Pitchman at Nationals

Judging by his smile, he is oblivious to the negative reaction from the crowd as he tossed out the first pitch at the opening game of the natonals. Amazing ESPN didn't edit the video to try to stifle the boo's.

One down, one to go

Well, made it thru the Rock Hill show just fine and have time to rest and relax before heading to North Carolina and the Smokey mountains on Friday. It was a good show here, but long. Got there at 6:30 am and headed out after loading up around 11 pm, nice short trip home as Bob only lives about 2 blocks from the college. Beautiful sit at Winthrop college for the show. The one next week at Western Carolina University also looks like it should be great. It will be great to see Debbie again...she's a sweetheart. I got a room lined up at Comfort Suites in Cherokee, NC in the Smokey Mts. and head that way on Fri and set up that night. You can start turning the heat up so things green up before I start heading home next Sunday. Some spring flowers would be nice as well. It will be great to finally be home and not call a motel6 home for awhile.

Happy Easter

Some think having a big snowstorm just before Easter is a bad thing. Look at the bright side. It makes it easier to find the eggs in the snow. Also...it's SPRING!!! The snow will be gone soon and the daffy-dills will be sprouting forth.

Back Home and Tired

Well, I made it back home this evening (Monday)...a day earlier than I thought. I guess I'm glad to be home...even though the weather isn't what I was just getting accustomed to down there. I have a warm kitty on my lap now, so I can at least have a warm lap and hands. I have a pile of mail the size of a small mountain which is mostly bills and I'm not looking forward to tackeling that. I knew it was going to be here waiting, so its not a big surprise. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone (at least everyone who faithfully reads my blog) know I made it back ok.

Part way home

Well folks, I finally left the sunny (and sometimes VERY breezy) south and am heading home for a couple weeks. I got as far as Mt. Vernon, IL tonight...which is about 7-8 hrs away. I stopped at a Best Value Inn and will be back on the road in the am once I have had some sleep, the van is rested and the cell is recharged. Off to bed soon after I see the end of National Treasure. Its pretty good.

Ellen gets Serious

If you hadn't heard about this, you need to see what Ellen had to say on her show the other day. Get out the tissues.

Can he sing AND strip?

Well, well well. The latest American Idol scandol revolves around the cute David Hernandez. Seems he not only used to work as a topless bartender at a gay bar in Phoenix, but was also a nude dancer there...and did private lap dances. I guess the contoversy isn't around his being gay (and closeted), or being a nude dancer, its just about his not telling anyone in advance. I just think its a shame that someones past life has to be brought up as a factor as to whether they can sing or not. As SImon says...HEYYYY, it's just my opinion!!!

Latest trip

Well, nothing like a fun trip to the hospital and a few pints of fluid to help one to feel better. Now, I know this may be a quick fix and there may be some setbacks yet for a week or so (or at least thats what they told me), but at least for the time being I feel soooo much better. I would have preferred to stay in bed this weekend, rather than working a 2-day show, but, staying in bed wouldn't help towards paying the visit to the emergency room, so off to work I went. I was hoping for huge sales, since it was a large show... both Sat and Sunday, but it was not to be. Not just me, everyone suffered from sagging sales. On the other hand, anything in the pocket is better than nothing, so I won't complain. Well, maybe just a little. A week to rest now, and then back to Roebuck, SC again for the WGI percussion Regional. But for now, off to bed.
